Cross-border workshop in Ungheni (Moldova), 9-10 December 2014The Workshop was organized by Moldovan partners: Ungheni City Hall (Partner #1) and Regional Center for Sustainable development (Partner #5).

The Workshop was aimed at sharing the experience in waste management sphere existing in Ungheni, as well as acquainting with environmental situation and activities carried out for waste management improving in participated cities.

The Workshop was opened by Alexandru Ambros, Mayor of Ungheni, who talked about the history of the city, importance of Ungheni as a trans-boundary outpost, as well as about the existing European ties, recently implemented joint municipal projects and their outcomes. He emphasized the importance of this Project for improving the waste management system in Ungheni.  Liliana Tincu, Mayor’s councilor, made the presentation on “Waste Management Experience and Sorted Collection of Waste Existing in Ungheni City”.

Study tour in Kutaisi_29.11.2013For the purpose of learning the experience in organic waste composting, the study tour to Kutaisi was organized for representatives of Ararat on 29 November 2013. The study tour included conduction of training-seminars and site visits.

Conditions required for composting. Problem avoidance.

The study tour brought together five representatives from Ararat, including three from Ararat Municipality (Partner 2) and two from NGO Environmental Survival (Partner 6).
